Football Match: KR vs NL

Last Saturday I went to Sangam World Cup Stadium after 1 year 3 months. This time it was for the first friendly match against the Netherlands, and recalling Euro 2004, I got excited more than ever.
Though we lost by 0-2, it was good to see the Dutch total soccer on the field. And I was happy to see the orange wave after a long while and ... longed for those days.

My love for three countries:
Muffler on my head for Korea
Guinness T-shirt for Ireland
Flags for the Netherlands

It is another amusement to take a photo with this giant doll at a crowded place.
(Btw, what is the official name for these dolls? We just called 'Rooster' for the one above and normally just call others such as 'Mickey, Minnie etc.', but actually don't know their representative name. Anyone knows?

Wearing a muffler and a jersey, I am set to become a *red devil.
(*Red Devils are official title for supporters to Korean National Football Team.)

It was the first time for me to ever have bought tickets on the away's side. As I missed the ticket open day, seats on the north side were only available on the third floor. Take a look at the audience becoming red.

The marching band (Chwitadae) of the Ministry of National Defence are the first group to step on the grass. The fabric was so gloss that I could even see that from a distance.

The Dutch Supporters seated on the third floor of the east side.
They shouted 'Hup Holland Hup' so many times.

Somebody said the reason for such a tremendous popularity for football is, in the age of seldom occurrence of wars, football is a channel that lets people openly show their patriotism.
I was always standing under or beside the flag, and it impressed me to look at the huge flag in front. This is the moment when the cameras shoot out the most flashes.

Hi, Don! Thank you for the comment. You are the first comment writer here.:)
I heard from a Dutch friend of mine that 'if it ain't Dutch, it ain't much.' I almost agree to the saying.

You have to see it in real, TP. It will be much greater if you get a seat at the supporters' area. Standing, shouting, and waving all through the match...! Really fun!!

It's too bad that football (soccer) is not that popular in the USA. Great photos!

Thank you, BW. Maybe David Beckam will be of help a little?;)
